Since the 1960s many papers have been published on various aspects of  nurse rostering. When it comes to applications in practice, there are just a few papers, most nurse rostering problems are extremely complex and diffi“cult. Tien and Kamiyama say that nurse rostering is more complex than the travelling salesman problem. For most real problems, the goal of “finding the optimal solution is not only completely infeasible, it is also largely meaningless.

你翻译的也很地道。
自20世纪60年代以来，很多与 nurse 排班相关的论文被发表。 然而与应用相关的论文却寥寥无几，主要是因为nurse 排班问题相当复杂而且具有很大难度。Tie 和 Kamiyama 认为 nurse 排班要比旅行商问题复杂的多。 在实际应用当中，寻找问题的最优解不但不可行而且也没有任何意义。
