Mathematical Content
Questions are based on curriculum common to all Canadian provinces.
Organization
The Gauss Contests may be organized and run by an individual school, by a secondary school for feeder schools, or on a board-wide basis. All marking of the Contests is done in your school by the organizing teacher, in order to de-emphasize competition.
Registration Information
Schools register online. The deadline is April 18, 2013.
View fees.
Registrations are also accepted by fax or
e-mail.
Schools that have not registered for previous contests are encouraged to participate.
Contest Preparation
We recommend that students spend some time preparing for our contests by trying to solve problems. Many teachers make this a regular classroom activity, and use past contest problems as part of their regularly assigned work.
Results
See the most recently available results booklet. Teachers may submit results online.
Recognition
We emphasize participation but also recognize top-performing students.
